New partnership between Mepal, Akeneo PIM and XSARUS

For 73 years, the brand has been known for its functional and innovative solutions that add value both in the kitchen and beyond. More than 90% of its products are manufactured and assembled in the Netherlands, underscoring Mepal's commitment to local production and quality.

PIM challenges faced by Mepal

Mepal is currently running into several challenges in managing their product information. There is no central source of truth regarding all of Mepal's product information, making it incomplete and non-uniform. In addition, Mepal experiences difficulties in easily importing and exporting product information from different sources and systems, as well as between external parties such as web shops, retailers and marketplaces. A PIM system provides the solution to effectively address these challenges.

Our products are the heart of Mepal, but product information resides in different heads and systems. With a PIM system, we create one central source where all information and the many unique specifications of our products are recorded.

Choice of Akeneo PIM

Mepal chose Akeneo PIM partly because of its user-friendliness. The Akeneo PIM system stood out for its intuitive user interface, making it easy to perform the desired functionalities. The user-friendliness contributes to the easy management of product information and the embrace of the new PIM system by Mepal employees.

Progress in efficiency and effectiveness

The implementation of the Akeneo PIM system provides Mepal with both efficiency and effectiveness. The system accelerates the time-to-market of new products and simplifies the dissemination of product information thanks to its links to other systems and external parties.

XSARUS showed us a demo of Akeneo PIM. In it we saw that our main requirements were reflected. Based on the demo and experience of XSARUS PIM Masters, we chose them. We are looking forward to the implementation with great confidence and good spirits!

The first step in the collaboration between Mepal and XSARUS PIM Masters is: analyze. Using workshops, input is gathered, which is then incorporated into a plan of action. How is Mepal's assortment structured? What are the requirements for the data model? What integrations are needed? With 25 years of experience, our PIM Masters know what to do.
