Working with Travelbags again: rebuild to headless platform

Travelbags is a leading (online) retailer in bags, suitcases and travel accessories. Since the launch of the first generation webshop in 2008, Travelbags.nl has grown into a major e-commerce platform with a strong position in the Netherlands and Belgium. The extensive assortment includes more than 20,000 products from over 100 top brands. In addition to the webshop, the retailer has two physical stores in Deventer and Zwolle.

Increasing focus on online

Travelbags has experienced significant growth in recent years, in both revenue and brand awareness. The organization is poised to further strengthen its market position with an increasing focus on online and by investing in digital innovation and international expansion.

We again chose XSARUS with great confidence, given the pleasant cooperation in the past and the knowledge and experience they have in the field of e-commerce. This combined with a proactive role that is not limited to just building web shops.

Renewal of the IT landscape

The current IT landscape no longer met Travelbags' growth objectives. They engaged XSARUS to help think through the needed replatforming and online growth ambitions. Given the previous successful collaboration between Travelbags and XSARUS, there is full confidence in this new project.

In addition to the rebuild of the e-commerce platform, multiple components within the IT landscape are being addressed. Such as integration of the PIM system, TableTop Order Management, optimization of the marketing automation landscape and proper feed setup for marketplaces.

Headless Magento Open Source platform

We are developing the new e-commerce platform based on Magento Open Source, supplemented with a CMS system and stable, proven plug-ins for additional functionality.

We will also realize integrations with back office systems such as Spotler Mail+, Spotler Activate, Twinfield, Picqer, Returnless and build a new headless frontend with Nuxt/Vue. The frontend is based on the UX/UI design of the current webshop that has been further optimized over the years. We apply e-commerce best practices and set up a design system to develop the frontend.

Renewed collaboration for the long term

By establishing this future-proof e-commerce platform we lay the foundation for a long-term cooperation and development together with Travelbags. We combine Travelbags' in-house knowledge with our experience and practical approach, supported by the SCRUM method. Both our e-commerce professionals and XSARUS PIM Masters are ready to make this ambitious project a success.
