Shop the Look is gaining ground as a powerful way to create an inspiring shopping experience. You see Shop the Look featured in newsletters, on the homepage of web shops, as banners on product overview pages and on inspiration pages with various styles and categories.

Whereas Shop the Look was first usually used as a separate entry on the webshop, it is now increasingly being integrated throughout the e-commerce platform. Such is the case at Schijvens Mode, a successful fashion retailer with 15 physical stores and a growing webshop.

Store employees inspire online as well

One of the most important pillars of Schijvens Mode is offering personal advice. Customers often come to the store especially to be helped by their favorite salesperson. Those same store employees also display their favorite looks on the webshop and are highlighted on an overview page. In addition, each salesperson has her own page with compiled looks. A nice bridge between online and offline sales that contributes to a uniform and personalized shopping experience.

From the looks, visitors click directly to the product page or add the product directly to the shopping cart.

Every look gets extra attention with a video and multiple model photos. Schijvens Mode's webshop recognizes whether a product is linked to a look and automatically enriches the product detail page with the video and first model photo. Thanks to the same technique, sizing advice appears below the product information, a banner linking to the complete look and all other looks by the salesperson.

By using Shop the Look throughout the webshop, a visitor easily navigates through the various pages. Customers receive plenty of inspiration and advice from their trusted clothing advisor, reinforcing trust. Thus, Schijvens Mode continues the same service as in the physical stores, online.

Shop the Look continues to evolve, offering more and more opportunities to optimize the shopping experience for your visitors. It is a powerful tool to differentiate yourself. You can also expand Shop the Look on your e-commerce platform by:

  • Showing relevant products on the product page
    When a product is linked to a look, you can immediately show the other items from that look as "related products. Your visitor doesn't have to go back to the original look to select matching products. This simplifies the purchase process.
  • Show multiple looks with the same product
    If a product appears in multiple looks, show all the corresponding styles. This way you highlight the versatility of the product and inspire your customer to combine an item in different ways.

The future of Shop the Look goes further. Think personalized looks, automatically generated combinations based on customer data and even AI support to give the perfect style recommendations.
