PIM Masters implement inriver solution at Amac

With more than 50 stores, Amac is thé Apple Premium Reseller of the Netherlands. The customer and service-oriented provider delivers new and refurbished Apple products, accessories and solutions for both consumers and the business market. Amac is also active in education and healthcare.

What challenge does Amac face?

Amac is facing a major transformation of its existing IT landscape. Also on the supply side, Amac continues to develop with a long-tail strategy, adding more and more niche products on the e-commerce platform. Thus, the assortment will soon consist of more than 20,000 products.

In the selection process, we not only selected a PIM, but perhaps just as importantly, an implementation partner. XSARUS turned out to have a lot of PIM expertise, to speak our language and to be able to empathize with our problems. We are confident in working with XSARUS to achieve a good implementation.

PIM as a central source  

For the successful execution of the long-tail strategy and an optimal user experience, a PIM system is crucial for Amac. One central source for all product information, leading in the onboarding and enrichment of supplier data. The PIM system also allows products, such as accessories, to be linked to main products and ensures consistent distribution of all product data.

During an intensive preliminary process, Amac compared various PIM solutions. The choice fell on Inriver, a comprehensive PIM system with a user-friendly intuitive interface. Specific advantages and functionalities that the PIM system will bring Amac:

  • Versatile platform as basis for long-tail strategy: Amac needs a platform to properly manage, find and sell a huge assortment of long-tail/niche products.
  • Efficient workflows for fast time-to-market: to launch the new niche products, Amac needs an efficient and streamlined work process.
  • Flexibility in configurable products: the assortment contains many configurable products, where the desire is to carefully capture relationships, exceptions and effects.
  • Managing pricing information: Amac has the need to efficiently manage pricing information for the various (B2B) customer groups.
