With fans all over the world, the Dutch Love Stories Intimates is one of the fastest growing names in the fashion industry. Since its founding in 2013, Love Stories has grown into an international lingerie brand with 14 boutiques in Europe. The unique and slightly quirky brand even developed its own sizing and differentiates itself with its products and the principle of the ‘Perfect Mismatch’.
Digital partner
Since 2017, XSARUS has been supporting Love Stories in their growing digital ambitions. XSARUS is responsible for the complete architecture of the B2C webshop and the integrations with external systems.
What we have realised together:

- Integration with Microsoft Navision

Rebuild to headless Magento Open Source platform
Together with Love Stories, we looked at the future of the e-commerce platform. How can they get even more out of it? Love Stories previously used Adobe Commerce with advantages such as B2B functionalities and Page Builder. The required B2B functionalities became redundant due to the transition to a new platform.
A headless setup also proved to be an excellent option for Love Stories. This means: a rebuild from Adobe Commerce to Magento Open Source with Prismic as the CMS system. This allows unlimited content possibilities; Love Stories can quickly put content live and roll out unique campaigns. And it is very user-friendly, meaning the learning curve is very low. Love Stories can bring its content strategy and product stories to life in this way.

Ultimate inspiration
The Love Stories e-commerce platform is unique in its kind and offers visitors ultimate inspiration. The platform is scalable without making any concessions in the field of e-commerce or brand experience. In terms of inspirational content, a lot is possible; full-screen images, videos, gifs. There is also the freedom to place text and buttons over images in arbitrary places, adjust fonts and sizes, and more.
Built on the latest technology
The new frontend is built on the latest technology, Nuxt 3. This ensures speed and security. The new Love Stories platform was built in record time, in two consecutive phases:
- Phase 1: new frontend went live in December 2023. In just two months. There was swift communication on both sides to ensure the platform could go live in the important December month for Love Stories. Love Stories was willing to postpone certain functionalities, which had little to no impact on the happy flow of the webshop and conversion, to phase 2.
- Phase 2: after phase 1, phase 2 started immediately. During this three-week sprint, the missing features were developed, tested, and went live.
In this phase, the XSARUS Merchandiser was also added as a new component in the e-commerce landscape. This gives the Love Stories team full control over the sorting of their product overview pages. Based on dozens of parameters such as margin, turnover rate, inventory, and revenue, product overviews are dynamically sorted. Products can also be pinned so that the real eye-catchers are not to be missed.
Biggest win: flexibility
All in all, the Love Stories platform has become a lot more flexible. By going headless, Love Stories has more control over the technical architecture and can respond faster to new trends or consumer needs. There stands a stable, flexible and creative e-commerce platform that enables Love Stories to realise its international strategy and ambitions.
