For 90 years, Eijerkamp has been presenting the newest trends in living, sleeping, design, lighting, window and floor decoration across an area of 55,000 m2. Providing customers with 100% inspiration through atmospherically decorated interiors, composed of a broad collection of over 150 different living brands; personal and involved. That is what Eijerkamp offers its customers in its stores in Zutphen and Veenendaal.
Eijerkamp shares its passion for interior, design and trends with vtwonen. It is not for nothing that Eijerkamp has been a partner of the popular living programme since 2015. Every Sunday evening, the Netherlands can get inspired by the programme 'vtwonen - In Love with Your House Again' and with that inspiration shop to their heart's content in one of the physical stores or on Eijerkamp.nl.
Work on the online living store
Eijerkamp is a strong brand that manages to create a unique and atmospheric experience in its impressively complete living stores. The personal involvement of the professionals in the stores adds strength to the whole. While a lot of attention is given to these factors in the brick-and-mortar store, the ultimate Eijerkamp atmosphere, experience, and inspiration are still missing online. So, it’s time to work on the (online) store! A great challenge for XSARUS.


From building blocks to dream flight
The result is stunning: a unique living experience that leaps off the screen. An online store where inspiration is central. The offline stores and the online environment are once again side by side and cleverly intertwined. This allows customers to directly 'pin' their favourite products to their moodboard and take them to the store digitally or printed. From product catalog to atmosphere and inspiration: from building blocks to a dream flight.
Together on a journey
In a project focused on creating the right feeling, look, and experience, close collaboration between the client and digital partner is crucial. Through workshops, Eijerkamp, XSARUS and FACTICX were able to get to the heart of the challenge and map out the path to the right solution together. From the start, the FACTICX design team immersed themselves in the world of Eijerkamp, leading to a new online living experience that is aligned with the physical experience.

Optimally integrated according to the latest standards
Unlike webshops with a strong transactional focus, the focus of the new Eijerkamp platform—which should radiate inspiration, atmosphere, and experience—lies mainly on the frontend. A pleasant working content management product is essential. Page speed and performance also play a very important role at Eijerkamp; on Sunday evening during and after the vtwonen broadcast, the platform must be able to handle the peaks without sacrificing speed. Therefore, a fully headless setup was chosen. This means that the transactional processes are now processed in Magento Open Source, while the content is housed in the user-friendly Prismic CMS. The frontend is built on VueJS, where the GraphQL middleware provides the connection between Magento Open Source and Prismic. Finally, for the checkout, the self-developed XSARUS variant was chosen, which has a significantly higher flow-through rate than the standard Magento Open Source checkout.
